Easy Ninja Foodi Spaghetti
I love how easy this Ninja Foodi recipe is to make! Who doesn’t love a quick and easy one-pot meal? As a busy mama of 4, I definitely love quick, easy meals for my family. But I also don’t want to sacrifice on flavor.
Not only is this hearty meal super easy, it is healthier than the store bough spaghetti sauce. There’s no ingredients that we want to avoid like added sugars, bad oils, or other hidden ingredients in this tomato sauce!
When pressure cooking this pasta dish, it takes only the time to cook the sausage, and the time for the cooker to come to pressure, plus a natural release of 10 minutes. That’s simply the magic of the ninja foodi pressure cooker!
So, you’ll have a delicious spaghetti dinner on the table in under 30 minutes. And most of that time is hands off while the pressure cooker does its thing.
And you can easily turn it into an instant pot spaghetti recipe because it is super versatile!
One thing that I absolutely love about using my Ninja Foodi, it makes one pot cooking simple. I cooked the sausage using the Sear/ Sauté function. And then pressure cooked the remaining ingredients.
There’s no need for multiple pots/pans or even the use of a strainer to drain the pasta water.
I use this 8qt Ninja Foodi and it works well for our family of six. It has become one of our favorite small appliances for quick and easy meals!
Ingredients
All you’ll need for this delicious pasta dish is a handful of basic simple ingredients. A hearty Italian dinner with minimal prep work.
Here’s what you’ll need…
- ground Italian sausage – you could substitute with ground beef if you’d like, but it will not have the same delicious flavor.
- garlic cloves
- onion
- salt
- Italian seasoning
- olive oil
- chicken broth – homemade chicken bone broth is a great option, but also can be substituted with veggie broth if desired.
- fresh grape tomatoes – cherry tomatoes can be substituted
- crushed tomatoes
- 1 pound spaghetti noodles (classic spaghetti dry pasta noodles)
- fresh basil for garnish
- shredded pecorino or parmesan cheese
Step-by-step directions
Begin making this sauce using the sear / saute function on the Ninja Foodi to sauté the garlic and onions with the olive oil in the bowl or cooking pot of the Foodi.
Next, add the ground sausage and sauté until cooked through and break up the sausage into desired size. Stir in the salt & Italian seasonings.
Layer in the ingredients – pour in the chicken broth, stir and scrape up any pieces of meat off of the bottom of the cook pan.

Add the fresh tomatoes and the jar of crushed tomatoes to the top of the cooked sausage mixture.
Gently pour in the water to the foodi cook pot and over the other ingredients.
Break up the spaghetti noodles in half and loosely layer in criss cross pattern. It is important to loosely layer the pasta to avoid it clumping together and to properly cook during pressure cooking.
Add the pressure lid and set the valve to the seal position. Set the pressure cooker function to high pressure and the pressure cook time to zero and press start. The time to come to pressure will be about 8-10 minutes or so.
Once the pressure has been reached, set a timer for 10 minutes and allow for natural pressure release.
After the 10 minutes of natural pressure release, switch the vent to release any remaining pressure. Then carefully remove the lid.
Gently stir the pasta. Allow for a few minutes of rest time for any extra liquid to absorb.
Serve with fresh basil, red pepper flakes, and freshly shredded pecorino or parmesan cheese if desired.
How to store and reheat leftover pasta
If you have leftovers, they can be stored in the refrigerator for a few days in an airtight container. To reheat, heat on medium low until warmed through.
