This copycat recipe packs all the same flavor and texture you know and love from Hamburger Helper, but with the added bonus of being homemade - and let's face it, everything tastes better when you make it yourself. So, gather your ingredients, put on your apron, and get ready to serve up some delicious copycat Hamburger Helper beef stroganoff.
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook ground beef until no longer pink.
Add the cornstarch, sea salt, ground black pepper, dried parsley, and onion powder to the ground beef and stir to combine. It should absorb all the liquid/fat.
Add in beef broth and milk and bring to a boil, still on medium-high heat. Once boiling add in the egg noodles and stir thoroughly until they are covered in the liquid. Reduce heat to a simmer and stir regularly to avoid sticking.
Simmer until the egg noodles are tender, approximately 12-15 minutes. Turn off the heat and vigorously stir in the sour cream and the Worcestershire sauce.
Cool slightly before serving. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired.
Notes
Optional serving ideas: Onions and mushrooms would be a great option, but adding some greens, like broccoli or zucchini could work well too. Just ensure you either cook them first, or you may have to adjust the recipe to allow for the additional items.
