This simple and delicious gnocchi so delicious and comforting! It’s a great recipe for a quick weeknight dinner. The creamy and spicy pepper sauce adds a burst of flavor, and it all comes together in just one pan in under 30 minutes.
Set aside 2 tablespoons of adobo sauce as well as 2 chipotle peppers. Use a knife to finely chop the chipotle peppers. Cook gnocchi according to the package directions. Drain the gnocchi and set aside.
Whisk together the heavy cream, garlic powder, salt, adobo sauce, and chipotle peppers in a large pan or skillet. Stir the ingredients over medium heat for 5 minutes.
Add the parmesan cheese and continue stirring the sauce for an additional 10 minutes.
Fold the cooked gnocchi into the chipotle sauce. Make sure that the pasta is evenly coated in the sauce.
Serve and enjoy!
Notes
You won’t need a lot of peppers or sauce to make this recipe spicy or flavorful. Most stores have larger cans, but a 7 ounce can is plenty.
Freshly grated Parmesan has more flavor and melts down better, but bottled Parmesan can be used in a pinch.
If you have fresh garlic on hand then you can use two cloves of freshly minced garlic instead of garlic powder. This will add a sharper flavor to your pasta. If you are using fresh garlic then you’ll want to cook it over medium heat with a drizzle of olive oil for 2 minutes to help release the flavor.
For some extra spice you can add extra adobo sauce or chipotle peppers. You can also add cayenne chili powder or a sprinkle of red pepper flakes.
We like to top this creamy spicy gnocchi with parsley flakes and some freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
